Two year old somehow managed to place a lock on TV. Only blue screen with red lock in left hand corner. What should I do?
Well after spending about 45 mins on hold and searching the internet for the last 2 days the resolution to this issue is to hold the display button down for 3 secs .... Yep thats it Hope this saves someone some time --Brian
Brian Smith, this is 13th july 2012 you sorted this mystery almost 6 yrs ago but you have no idea what a genius you are. my tv has been off all day my 1.7 yr old son somehow managed to get this red padlock on. I've tried calling the electrician and in my despeartion decided if i might get some solution online. VOILA! you just did it for me, almost 6yrs ago. mmmmmwaaaaaaaaa. A big thank you

Was in the bedroom studying and had my 18m son runnin in and out so i figured id sit him on the bed and let him have his way w/t controller ... after about 10 minutes of hearing him turn the system off and on and turning back n forth from the cooking channel he quietly brought me the remote and went in the living room to play w/his cars ... he didnt tell me he locked the TV ... thanksfor the tip - it worked ... u saved me alot of research and saved me from hearing my girls lip ... thank u sir ... *continues studying*

Thank you. My kids were fighting over watching/not watching Tila Tequila (blech) and it would have gone on for hours if this hadn't fixed our second tv. My hero.
OMG!! Thank you so much for your post! I have had the hardest time trying to fix the TV; pouring over the owner's manual, changing batteries, unplugging, etc. All to no avail. I can't thank you enough. (I'm realizing as I write this that I may be a little too invested in watching tv...)

Screen went blue and audio off. Red padlock symbol in upper left corner. Only commands it allows are on and off and display of channel that was on when it went off. Called service number but got message "no longer in service" message. Any help will be appreciated.
