Question about GE WSM2700W Unitized Spacemaker Washer and Dryer

2 Answers

My washer does not drain. Water accumulates even after the rinse and spin cycle. The machine does not overflow water. Could it be that the discharge pump is causing the problem? Second, if that is the problem, would it be easy for me to switch out the discharge pump? I'm not handy but I could call a handyman instead of an appliace service person.

Lonestarr, the pump would be the first culprit to check. I believe that the pump in this model is electric and not driven by a pulley, so switching out should be easy. First you want to verify that you have power going to the pump while in the drain cycle. If you have power going to it and it's not pumping water out you can be pretty sure that is the problem. The front panel can be removed by removing the two screws at the bottom and lifting out. Now you can get a good look at the motor and pump assy. The part number for the pump is WH23X10009. Priced around 85.00. Catriver...post back.

Frigidarie Stackable Washer and Dryer leak

Check the Drain Tube, Check the Screen. When it gets to the FIRST Spin Cycle, Check the Water Level inside the Drum and see if it is Completely Draining... There is a Water Level Switch that should not be allowing it to Overflow so you may have an issue there... But first check for a Blockage

Cold water won't stop before rinse cycle

if it fails to stop running only at the rinse part of the cycle it is probably in the timer as the solenoid valve has to cut the water off when the washer fills for the wash cycle too. fills for wash cycle and cuts off water, washes and drains, refills for rinse cycle and water just keeps running? does this every time you run it? that's in the timer. bad solenoid (water inlet valve) would keep running even on wash fill up. hope this helps.

Washer WPSR3100WOWW Will wash but not drain and spin... Stops at the rinse Cycle

Christina,
Does it leave water inside the tub? There are a couple of possibilitys. One could be the drain pump. If this fails the wash/rinse cycle will stop as it can sense the water not being pumped out. Can you hear the light sound of a small motot running when it goes into rinse cycle? Listen down at the very bottom far right side or far left side. If you hear the drain pump motor running is there any water discharging out the drain tube going into the wall? You should easily hear the flowing water. If not you have a few possible problems: Drain pump has an obstruction in or around it or, drain pump is actually bad.

Dry-spin doesn't work, because after rinsing the clothes are still wet. MOD- VBXR1070WOWW SER-SZ107967H

I'm assuming this is a G.E. brand because of the model number. Take the four screws off the very bottom panel of the front of the washer. Inside you will see a twist off rubber cap. Place a pan under it big enough to hold 2 quarts, and twist the cap open. When the water comes out and it is empty remove any accumulation of lint, loose change, etc. This should be done monthly to help the washer discharge the water on spin cycles.

Also, inside the door is a flat rubber ring. At the bottom pull the flap back. There are small holes there for the water to drain out. Lots of stuff accumulates there too, even as large as a pocket knife or ball point pen. Check that daily when washing.

Leaking when entering the Rinse/spin cycle

what is happening is the pump is not pumping the water fast enough. your washer sounds like its a frididaire built washer. there should be a pause where the washer just stops and drains, then go into the spin cycle. so if there is water in the tub and the washer spins it will splash out from the top of the wash tub. you need to make sure the drain is clear, the drain hose is not blocked or kinked, and that the pump is functioning properly. your unit has a electric pump and even though you might hear it running the impellor my be damaged and able to pump the water fast enough.it could be as simple as removing the hose from the bottom of the tub that go's to the pump and removing a sock that found its way in. or just a bad pump. its a simple job to replace it.to get to the pump remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the front panel tilt the washer back a little and slide the panel down. you wil see the pump on the lower left. so check all the things i listed and you should find the problem..Id check the pump first it most likley the problem. good luck
