Printronix p5010 with AS/400 IBM server

We are trying to connect our printronix p5010 printer (located remotly) with our server machine (IBM iSeries AS/400) using NIC card. But we are unable to get the printer working. Please suggest me if i require any configurations on AS/400 machine or on the printer. Waiting for an urgent response. Regards, Umar Riaz

I can get the P5010 printing on your AS400... But, there are to many things to check without knowing a little more about your environment.

If you can't ping the PTX P5010 from the AS400 or a PC, then you have a printer configuration problem.
Take the printer offline and hit the Print Config button. and then the enter on OPs Panel. Then post top or first paragraph of the config. so I can look at...

If you can ping the printer from the AS400...
You will need to create a remote out que on AS400... command is crtoutq then hit F4...

I am not familiar with this printer .. but maybe this is what you need.

I believe you have this setting incorrect: the MFRTYPMDL should be *IBM6400EP. That is because you want the AS400 to send out plain old ASCII to our printer. It is an ASCII printer and not a HP. The codes are different.
