Does it possibly have a reset button you could press with a paperclip? If not, try disconnecting the constant power wire for ....let's say an hour, and hooking it back up.
Hi don't know if this helps but the long grey lead that comes with it has a specific connector that also rund the pwer to the screen if the dvd player you have is not a necvox dvd player or tv tuner it wont work as the screen takes its power fron the dvd player through the grey lead hope this helps Regards Brett
These units have a remote which provides controls not on the player itself. Be sure to check that the mute is not on. The other obvious question (but it still needs to be asked) is have you checked the volume control setting. When you move the control do you hear static or anything over the speakers which could indicate a bad volume control. Have you checked audio with headphones? If you have sound with headphones then you may have a loose connection in the speaker wiring or the headphone jack may be malfunctioning.
Sounds like the power supply in the dvd player has failed. It works just well enough to turn on the led infront but as soon as you go to do anything it shuts off. This is common in cheaper dvd players. Unless you can troubleshoot electronics. Or know someone that can. Your best bet is to unplug the unit and disassemly and retrieve your dvd.
Ther eis a stand by function on the Television. If you have the owners manual read about that function. Th ered light stays on because it is programed to come on a t a certain time. Go to menu and find the stand by function.
