I can't download movies from my Canon DC220 Camcorder

I can download pictures from the camcorder to the PC, but not movies???

    Do I need the Firewire rather than the USB to download my videos into my Mac? The video is not even coming up on my desktop, so I am thinking I need the Firewire. . . . any thoughts.

    Same problem with my Canon PowerShot SX 10 IS - I can download JPGs but not movies.

    same as every one else... I put the disk in the drive and nothing comes up.

If you are trying to play the dvd in the computer you have to finalize it first. The Camcorder has to be plugged in for this to work. if you want to see the Pictures make sure that you have it in the view mode. Where you would see ll the pictures on the camera, then it should show up on you "My Computer". It took me a while too. Good luck

You need to have the power adapter pluged in in order to finalize the disk.

There way of a making sure everyone doesn't copy over there movies/photos with out knowing??

You need to change th mode it is in. Pull down the switch like you are going to view the pictures. then the computer should start to recognize it.

Can not see canon dc220 recordings from PC
Until you Finalize the disk it will be unreadable on the other devices. In order to finalize the disk you must have the power cord plugged in to the Camera. Then finalize will be an option on the menue. So no one does it on accident. After it is finalized you will be able to open it up on the computer or on most DVD players.I have the dame camera, I love it
