On the screen, to toggle between turning the speakerphone on or off.
The speaker phone icon appears in the status bar when the speakerphone is on.

If it is the handset speakerphone, this usually means the battery is dying. The speakerphone uses more power than the regular phone, so when you turn on the speakerphone with a weak battery the handset will shut off and disconnect the call. You likely need a new battery.
The speakerphone remains on until you press the smart/speakerphone key again or turn off the phone. You will see Spkrphone Off. You can also set your phone to turn off the speakerphone automatically after 20 seconds of inactivity: Press the center key > wSettings > Initial Setup> SpeakerPhone > 20 sec timeout Also The handsfree speaker is disabled when you connect your phone to a handsfree car kit or headset accessory.

there is a button on the side of the phone with a picture of a speaker on it, it is right under the camera button. if you hold the button with the speaker down for a few seconds the speaker phone will turn on, make sure the phone is open when you do this and you follow the same steps to turn the speaker back off
While the phone is on and open it should say "speaker" in blue above the button on the right. When you push that button it should turn speakerphone off. And if you have hung up the phone it should automatically turn off until you turn it on again.
