I have had my TV get into this state twice and both times it ended up being a blown transistor. Cost $300 each time to get fixed though shopping around for part numbers I think the transistor was only about $20.
Symptoms were a click sound when trying to power up but the power light would not go on and no picture or sound.
I have this same problem and replaced the entire convergence circuit board with the IC's included and the problem was not fixed. The convergence board costs $181. at Vance Baldwin electronics. I now have two and still have a tv that won't turn on.
I would not replace the convergence ic's just yet. first, pull off the CRT sockets off the picture tubes and lay them aside, making sure they are not touching anything. Next disconnect the Plugs off the convergence board, where the STK IC's are. Next see if the set will turn on now with sound. if it does, replace the convergence IC's. If it does not check the sweep power supply and or the main regulator IC and circuit. Good Luck

What is the source of your TV signal: Cable? Dish Networks? DirectTV? Antenna?
Many times the Cable/Dish Networks/DirectTV controller also has an option for closed captioning. Please verify that a controller is not setup to deliver the CC data.
Also, try setting the TV CC using 'C1' or 'T1' and selecting 'Enter' to accept the change; then come back and set CC to 'Off' again to see if toggling on/off helps.
Tv have "LAMP" indication LED light blinking? The tv projection lamp is dead, require changing.Hearing alot of clickings sound too?Mean the board, call the Ballast board is dead.Require change the Ballast too.The Ballast board, the board that help to ignite the projection lamp.
It is your projector tub if you are getting alot of blue in the picture. Those guns are very expensive to replace. I am sorry to tell you that. It would be cheaper set from wal-mart for your kids to play on.
First thing that needs to be checked is the convergence IC's. Those IC's are located in the signal board and are really hard to remove. You need an experience technician to fix it for you :)
One of the tubes are gone. You need to replace one. The easiest way is to disconnect the board from the tube. power it on and if the correct tube is disconnected, the TV will turn stay on. Research the problem a bit. This is a common problem
symptom shows Blue CRT (picture tube) in your TV might defective and need to be replaced. Its high tech repair issue, so contact tv tech person if you don't have enough knowledge about tv repair.
your looking to parts at the convergence area , either check for DRY SOLDER around the power supply area or replace the IC IN THE CONVERGENCE AREA starts with STK- ___ and numbers. try that , hope this helps
