I have a Casio Exilim ex-z40 camera and tried to install a 4 GB memory card. The camera says "Card Error". Will this camera take a 4 GB card or should I stick with the 2 GB I have in it now?

The EX-Z40 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to stick with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Problem with taking picture with SD card

The only thing I can recommend is using the brands of memory cards that Casio recommends. They are Panasonic, San Disc, Toshiba. Make sure the card is formatted with the camera before use.

Casio ex-z60 cannot read memory card

Make sure that the SD card you are using is either a SanDisc, Toshiba, or Panasonic. Those are the only cards that have been tested with Casio cameras. Also make sure that you format the card WITH THE CAMERA before you try and use it the first time. If it still doesn't work I would try resetting the camera and then you should have no problem.

Camera will not read memory card

Make sure you format your memory card before you try to use it other wise it will save the pics to ur internal memory instead of the mem card.

Can this model record without a memory card?

This model comes with 8.9MB of flash memory built in, which means you can record without using a memory card. Even when using flash memory, however, you still need to set the correct date before recording. If you do not set the date, certain functions may not operate and proper image recording may be impossible. Also, folders created automatically by the camera will not be named correctly if you do not set the date
