if not the cable source then the MAIN pcb (not power pcb) controls all tuning. If you're using a cable box & some channels good/some channels scrambled, then is a cable issue.
This sounds like what may be causing it is the cable going from the tv to the receiver box. If it is only happening on the sat channels, you know that it's not the tv. I would replace the cable, if that does not work, then it may be that the receiver needs to be replaced.
Hey there. You want to make sure that the cables are tight on the back of the receiver and also that the tv is on the correct channel or input. Sometimes, if the tv is on the wrong input, you can get the picture, but it will look scrambled. So if you are in the room with the receiver box, you want to make sure that the tv is on channel 3 or 4, and sometimes on an input like Video 1 or 2. If on the secondary tv, you will want to make sure that the tv is on channel 60 or 73. I hope that this helps. U get a channel numder and menu screen do show up?Not the tv,it the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug in or the cable box itself have problems.Tries unplug, replug the tv and the cable box back in like about an hour later. The tv will reset itself to the factory setting and the cable box should upgraded it softwares.Should work now.If have the same problems, tell the cable company change the cable box or check the incomming broadcasting cable wire with another tv,see the incomming broadcasting signal cable wire, with a new cable box,see if it work.
it sounds like you have the common problem with these models. The poblem has occured so offten that toshiba issued a service bulliteen about it. There is a problem with a cuircit board called the Hypermodule its a signal processing board/ the ideal situation would be replaced this board but it has happen so much it may be difficult to find this ooard so this board can be repaird. The secound problem is to fix this board 11 very very small parts called capacitors need to be replaced. i have also replace these and only someone advance in solder should attempt it very small. twezers and magnifer. You can hire someone but it very labor intensive. Our shop charges 300 just in labor It can be fixed but I would adviise its just no worth it
inspect your cables your a/v cables make sure there is no breaks in the cable at all if using a rf adaptor please make sure you are on the right channel and the rf adaptor is also on the right channel.
you may need new cables and if that does not work then its something internal on the unit.
Try to see if you have 5volts for your EEPROM. If the voltage is normal try to replace your EEPROM or try to reprogram it. Your EEPROM is corrupted so that's why it will not store data.
Get an antenna hooked up, even rabbit ears should pull in a few analog channels. Set top boxes will only output Ch 3 (switcheable to ch 4 on the back if needed) and cable may be dead or only give you scrambled CATV channels. You need to set your tuner to "antenna", not CATV, IRC,HRC, or ATSC (if you have a digital tuner) and do the setup again. You could have a bad tuner at worst, and all is not lost, just hook up a VCR via RCA cables and use the VCR tuner to change channels. Keep TV on Ch3.
