SOURCE: Zebra S600 printer continues calibrating

The factory default settings for the S600 is to auto calibrate every time the printhead is closed and every time the power is cycled. If the media sensor is not positioned correctly for the media you are using the label size will not be detected during a calibration. You mentioned the media has no markings, doe sthe media have a space between the labels? If so, the media sensor may not see the gap in the labels adn therefor is not calibrating properly or not calibrating at all. Check the media sensor position. I have found that the media sensor must be at least 1" from the inner wall of the printer so it doesn't see the edge of the backing in oder to read the size of the labels.

SOURCE: Manual calibration of labels not

Press pause and feed keys and turn on the printer, release the keys until it begins to move the label. Expected to finish printing, the printer was calibrated.

SOURCE: Zebra Z4M continuously feeds paper and errors out.

Hello,

It seems like you have a bad upper/lower media sensor or you need to adjust or clean it. If you remove your media and ribbon from the printer you will see two sensor's right behind the printhead. Printhead will need to be in the open position to see them. They should be emitting a red light. Clean and recalibrate. If that doesn't work it should the two sensors. They come in a kit. And just to be on the safe side you can call in to my technical support team to verify that is your problem. Its Free as long as parts that are needed are ordered thru us.

If you have any other questions please feel free to call.

SOURCE: TLP 2844 GAP sensor problem (I guess)

I had the same problem. I found out later there was a small piece of label sticking against the sensor, thus blocking the sensor from sensing the end of the label. As soon as I removed the label (open the cover, it is on the top part) it immediately started to work as usual. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Zebra LP 2844 doesn't feed label all the way out

Hi Brian,
When the last label printed is still under the printhead, that means the printer is in "rewind mode". There should be an option for "tear off" mode in the printer driver. This is the mode that pushes the last label printed out to the tear bar. The printer will then "backfeed" when printing the next label. Peel off mode is used if you want to print a label and have it "peeled" off the liner so that you can just pick up the label off the liner and apply it. That takes the rewind option to be installed.
Watch out though, if you are using a label software package, there might be a setting in the label format setup for "tear off" which usually overrides the settings in the printer.

Hope that helps !

Zebra S400 does not keep the calibration settings. After calibrating or restoring factory settings (like described in the manual) first label prints OK (using BarTender software) then it's off again. Same...

After you calibrate the printer. Press feed a few times. If it feeds a single label each time, then the calibration was successful.Power off and on while holding the cancel button. (config printout). Keep config for reference. Send label print from computer. If it does not work, then check that the printer driver matches the config printout. The computer printer driver will change and overide the settings in the printer

Feeding-problems

you need to calibrate. hold the feed button down intill it flashes 4 times in a row and the quickly let go. it will feed some labels to calibrate and should stop at the tear off. you also have to set label size in the driver to keep from losing calibration.

Label for zebra tlp 28844-z with 2 columns not aligned

I'm not sure what you mean here but I'm guessing that you mean the labels are not advancing properly meaning the print is not aligned vertically on the labels. If that is the case, two possibilities:
1. The printer just did not get a good calibration on the printer. You can force a calibration by turning off the printer, pressing and holding on the FEED key while turning the printer on. Keep pressing until the status light flashes once, then let go of the FEED key. The printer will calibrate for the label size.
2. If the calibration sequence does not correct the issue, then it's possible that the gap (horziontal) between the labels just happens to be over the media sensor which is located in the middle of the 4" print width area. If that is true then the labels will never calibrate.

Hope that helps !

Zebra LP 2844 is stalling out on every print.

Maybe the printer is not getting a good calibration on the label. If the status LED is a steady RED when trying to print, then the printer thinks its out of labels. A manual calibrationi could solve that.

1. Turn the printer off
2. press and hold down the FEED key while turning on the printer.
3. keep pressing the key until the status light flashes once, then let go
4. The printer will auto-calibrate for the size of label and then should be ready to use.

Press FEED once after its done and 1 label should feed.

Hope that helps !

My zebra TLP2844Z can not print because after fiew moments turn on the printer the light button becomes red. How to solv that?

A constant red light usually means the printer is out of ribbon or labels. It may just not recognize the size of the label so try a manual calibration to set the size.

1. turn the printer off
2. press and hold down the FEED button while turning on the printer
3. Keep holding down on FEED until the led flashed once, then let go
4. The printer will do an auto-calibration on the label.
When it's done, pressing FEED should advance 1 label. It's then ready to go.

Hope that helps !

Printer does not print in correct place after calibration, stops and says paper error

Sounds like the printer is not getting the proper calibration on the label being used. After putting printer in pause and pressing calibrate button, a good calibration is indicated by the labels feeding, a slight hesitation, and the feeding a couple of more labels at a faster speed. If the labels just feed and then stop, that is not a good calibration. Then you have to make sure the top and bottom media sensor are properly aligned.

Hi can you help ? My zebra TLP 2824 printer keeps printing out of alignment. I reset the printer by holding the feed button while powering on but instead of printing dump info the label moves for a while...

If you are using a ribbon remove it and perform a calibration, hold down feed key for 2 seconds as you power on, release key and wait for it to complete its calibration, when it has stopped shifting labels (wait for 10 secs to be sure) HIT THE FEED KEY to exit dump mode. If it has successfully calibrated it will feed a label each time you hit feed key. Re-install ribbon, make sure ribbon is pushed formly onto drive sprockets and then re-run the calibration..

If this does not fix problem. download firmware to latest version. This will automatically reset printer to factory default condition.

TLP2848Z blinking red, will not print

1: Is it a TLP2844 or a TLP2844Z.

Operationally they are completely different printers. TLP2844 uses ELP (Eltron Programming Language. but TLP2844Z uses ZPL (Zebra Programming Language). You need to calibrate the printer to the labels.

Calibration:
If its a TLP2844. Load media. Connect power.
Hold down feed key, power on, count one, two, release feed key. The printer will go through a calibtation routine and print config label. IMPORTANT - When it prints this label you must press the feed key and see the message OUT OF DUMP. Your printer will now be calibrated. Check this by hitting the feed key a few times and printer will feed one label each time feed is hit.

Calibration:
If its a TLP2844z.

Load media. Turn printer on and wait for green light (Approx 1 minute)
Press feed key and keep it pressed until green light blinks once, then twice, now release feed key.
