I had this same problem. I called cannon and they advised me that the machine was not fixable and offered me a new one for a cheaper price than most stores. Hope this helps.
try this. It is the reset for the waste ink error (8 flashes)
1) With the printer power OFF, while pressing the Resume button, press the Power button. (Do not release the power button.) 2) While pressing the Power button, release the Resume button, press the Resume button again twice, and then release the Resume button and Power button. 3) The green indicator flashes during initialization. When the indicator stops flashing and remains on, press the Resume button 4 times to clear waste ink message. (The indicator toggles between orange and green each time the Resume button is pressed.) 4) Next, press the Power button, and the green indicator will light, and the function will be executed. 5) Turn off the printer then back on and error should clear.
Hello, according to another expert at fixya:
"Error 6000 is a service call error, meaning that the printer needs to be taken into a canon authorized service facility for repair.
This is a line feed error, with the problem originating from the timing **** disk film or the printer's logic board. "

Lights Flashing on the Lexmark Z815/ Z816 Color Jetprinter
ID: ENUS17112
This document does not apply directly to your Lexmark Z615
First count the number of times the light on the front of your printer flashes.
Then refer to the table below for information about the error condition and recommended recovery procedures.
Number of FlashesError ConditionError Recovery
2
Carrier Stall: The movement of the print cartridge carrier has been obstructed.
Remove any objects blocking the carrier path.
4
Print Incomplete: The print cartridge carrier stopped in the middle of a print job due to obstruction.
Remove any objects blocking the carrier path.
12
Cartridge Short: The printer has detected a short circuit in a cartridge.
Turn the printer off.
Open the front cover.
Turn the printer back on.
Remove the color cartridge.
Close the cover. If there are no flashing lights, the color cartridge is short-circuited.
Remove the black cartridge and then reinsert the color cartridge.
If there is no error indicated by flashing lights, the black cartridge is short-circuited.
If you continue to receive an error indicated by flashing lights, both cartridges are short-circuited.
If the 6 flashes are accompanied by an on screen message #5400, this is a "Service Call Error" code.
This code indicates the following;
Internal temperature error [5400]
The solution to this is the following part replacementl
- Logic board ***'y (QM2-1548) *1
*1: Before replacement of the logic board ***'y, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or more, also replace the bottom case unit (QM2-1205) or the ink absorbers (QC1-4222 / 4223 / 4224 / 4263 / 4264 / 4864 / 4221 / 4257) when replacing the logic board ***'y. [See Section 3-3. Adjustment / Settings, (6) Service mode, for details.]
I have the same issue....two flashes of the light on the power button the repeat. The carrier is clear, so I don't know what else to do. Also, when I turn the power on, the carrier goes back and forth, hitting the sides very LOUDLY! Anyone else having this issue? This printer is a few years old, so no warranty, and of course, I just bought replacment ink for it, so now it won't work..worked fine till the ink ran out this time! PLEASE HELP!
There are some possibilities due to the above phenomena. Let's discuss about it: 1) If the POWER light is flashing green, then your printer is now warming up or performing maintenance procedure (replacing cartridge/tank) or cleaning print head, just wait a few seconds till the light stop flash. Also if the last page of a print job not done, this POWER light flashing green. 2) If the CHARGE/ERROR light is flashing orange with beep 3times, it mean your cartridge need to be install (especially the 1st time turn on printer) or cartridge being replaced, just install the cartridge and press RESUME to continue. 3) If both POWER light is flashing green and CHARGE/ERROR light is flashing orange with beep 3times, then your printer may facing a very serious error and maybe need a replacement.
