Have you updated the video driver in the laptop, there have been cases where the screen gives a variety of symptoms because the driver was outdated, if that fails! as crazy as this sounds do a fresh install of your operational system. I serviced a laptop with a flickering screen, I reloaded windows and got rid of the problem.
shut down the laptop and start it again...immediately start hitting f8 key..select option ....safe mode....
if it works go to start .accessories and system tools and restore the system to previous date where in it was working fine..
it should be able to work perfect then
