Question about Gateway 450ROG 15inch SXGA+ LCD Display- TX38D91VC1FAB CD-ROM Drive
I'm thinking of buying a used Gateway 450 ROG laptop, but the video card is busted, so I'd have to buy a new one. Would I have to buy one specific to the Gateway laptop, and if so, how much would it cost? Also, how would I install the new video card? The laptop is selling for $150. I've asked for the specs to find out about how large the hard drive is, if there's a cd burner, and how much ram there is. What else should I be looking for? Would it be worth my while to talk the seller down to say $100 and invest in the new video card? Any input on the quality of Gateway laptops?
First of all the video card is built into the motherboard. not a seperate card to purchase. that means replacing the whole motherboard. very costly. I am working on a clients notebook with the same problem. and replacing the mb only solves the problem for a short time.
