The following link explains how to check and clean the drain pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385844-checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

Now...just because the pump is running, does not mean it is pumping water. It does not take much to damage these small pumps. If anything has been lodged in the pump for any significant amount of time, it can potentially damage the pump motor and/or impeller. In this case, if cleaning does not correct the problem, you must replace the pump. If it comes to this, the following link explains how to replace the pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r401841-replacing_kenmore_elite_water_pump

Replacements can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number and look under the "Pump and Motor Parts" heading for item number 10 (part #280187). The pump is sold as a complete unit.

HINT: You can find this same part cheaper at pcappliancerepair.com. Use the part number above for your search criteria. The reason I normally reference the above website is for the useful exploded view parts diagrams and the part number listings. In most cases, they provide the cheapest prices.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

I have a kemore elite he 3t front load washer it won't drain and its giving me a F02 error message. what does this mean? Help!

it's a long drain error code, most likely the pump is blocked with all kinds of good stuff, coins, screws, and who knows what else, vac out all the water with a shop vac, and next time open the door, look around the opening where you put the clothes into the washer and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, just need the model number, remove the bottom panel, look at the pump,if the center part can be removed, turn it slowly counter clockwise until the water starts to leak out and stop and vac up the water as it leaks out,do this until it's empty and then remove the center catch piece of the pump and clean it out, stick your finger in the pump and make sure nothing is stuck in the impellar, also check the rubber boot part of the hose, sometimes stuff is still in there,if the center of the pump doesn't come out, pull off the hoses to the pump and check them for junk in them and check the pump, reconnect the hoses, fill with some water and put in a spin cycle,if the water still doesn't drain out most likely you'll have to change out the pump.

The water wont drain and the is a clicking noise coming out of the water pump motor

Something may be stuck in the pump impeller causing it to make a clicking or rattling noise. Disconnect power then remove the lower front access panel to access the pump filter and the pump impeller.

Remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

Drain the water into a bucket or shallow pan and lay a piece of towel under the pump filter prior to the removal of the filter. Turn the filter knob counterclockwise to remove and clean it. Reach in the pump to check if it is restricted or detached from the pump motor spline. Replace the pump assembly if the impeller is broken or detached.

What does F2 code mean with the Kenmore Elite HE3?

Based upon your description, the drain pump has either failed or the pump filter has become clogged.
To check the pump, remove the bottom access panel. There you will find access to the pump clean-out.(Large,white screw cap) BE READY TO CATCH LOTS OF WATER. CAREFULLY AND S_L_O_W_L_Y unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water. When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter. Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris.

Kenmore Elite front load washer does not drain.

If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here's the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here's a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don't own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there's nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT - DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console - DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). "C00" will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

F and H codes

You'll need to access the drain pump assy & remove any obstructions from within the drain pump. Your pump has a trap that you can unscrew (be mindful of the water) for access.
