I asked TIVOLI AUDIO for a spare part which went broken. This is part of the last email sent. "The knobs arrived. Thanks a lot. But, unfortunately, when I opened the envelope I understood that my request for help was wrong: what is broken in my PAL radio set is not the knob, but the electric device controlled by the knob, a potentiometer which has also a bass control (that is what I learned from my technician, astonished by the quantit? of technology inserted in one red box). The knob is no more able to adjust the volume level, and the fault is not in itself but in the electric device, welded inside the radio. I am confused because after all your efforts I don't have the right spare part, and it is my fault. Is it possible to work on this and fix it definitely? I am obviously available to pay for the new spare part, for parcel of both and for your kindness. Let me know what to do. Sincerely yours. Matteo Bortolaso" can you help me in finding the part which went broken?

TRY SPRAYING A LITTLE CONTACT CLEANER ON THE VOLUME CONTROLL
I EVEN USED RUBBING ALCOHOL.
SOURCE: tivoli model two - low/no sound in base unit
I have exactly the same problem but found two work arounds, either one that I am completely satisfied.
1. unplug and replug the AC.
2. I have a subwoofer, when I plug the subwoofer cable half way in, the sounds of the base speak goes back to normal (but not all the way in)
