JVC AV-27020 TV Blinking LED, Static Electricity on tube but no sound and image
I have a JVC AV-27020 TV gived to me by a friend for this problem:
- Once plugged in 120 VAC outlet, the TV set opens a couple of seconds with the front LED lighted steady. The CRT filament reddish (on) and closes down after with the front LED blinking. The CRT filament turns off and results as no image, no sound but the screen seems to be alive with static electricity. If we disconnect the set from wall outlet and replug, the cycle remains one more time as shown above. I remarked some diodes, resistors and capacitors with burnt, disappeared solder or totally unsoldered probably by the heat of the leads of componants in the deflection section near the FBT. I have rebuilt these solderings and the trouble remains one more time! Wich is the best solution to solve this problem? A diode?, A capacitor?, A resistor or a transistor (Horiz, Vertical Out.)?
Thank You very much!
I count on your news!

Re:
In jvc av-27020 we called that problem as on timer.your red LED indicator blinking.the reason is your vertical ic is defective if your vertical ic is la7832 replace it with la7840 if there is no la7832.that is most common cause of blinking in jvc 27020

Re:
Sounds like a bad main regulator IC.. Try putting a 100 watt light bulb across the main AC fuse, turn on the set and see if it will stay on longer. If it does, replace the main regulator iC. If it does not, then it could be almost anything in the sweep section of the set, and or in the regulation circuit of the power supply. Look for slightly swollen capacitors in the set. good Luck

what was that outside temp in transport, was it in the cold. If so the unit needed to get back up to room temp before pluging in, if not you will blow the starter.
Something shorted in the set, possibly the horizontal output transistor or a power supply diode. The reason it starts blinking again after plug in is because JVC try to come back on if they were on when the problem started. In other words, if it quit while it was playing it will always be in the on position until the problem is repaired and it can be turned off normally. Have a shop check it out for you. There are a lot of things that can cause one to go out. Thanks
The tv must of turned on the timer by itself. They do do that sometimes. I suggest leaving it unplugged for 24 hours to reset itself. If problem persists, you may be able to go to your menu and access the sleep mode timer and set it to 0:00 or OFF
Hello, I am a tv tech. I worked on a JVC AV-32D502 today. Problem: led flashes / no power or picture at all. Same as trobertson52's set. The microprocessor is bad in my machine. trobertson52, if your sets' relay does not click when the power button is depressed you most likely have the same problem or the standby power circuit is at fault. That circuit supplies +5 volts to the micro.
Edtal you have a different problem with your machine. Your machine is going into shutdown. A number of circuits could cause this and would need to be looked at by a technician to determine exactly which circuit is at fault. High voltage transformer (HOT) \ Vertical Circuit \ Power supply are the most likely causes.
I have the JVC AV-27020 and had to download the manual just today. I checked where I got my manual and they did not have anything for an ACV-27020. The link for the TV manual I downloaded is below. Maybe it will help.
Does the screen go black with the volume still working ? If so check to make sure your closed caption is turned off . If the sound turns off as well like the tv is turning off , then it might be going into shutdown. Some of these sets have had bad caps in the startup circuit . Let me know , Good luck
