I'm no sure what you're asking. Do you mean that it goes directly from low to high immediately when you turn the dial(I'm assuming it has a dial, I haven't looked it up) or push the up or down button?

Answer is, if rotary, a bad rotary switch, or in both cases, a bad microprocessor or electronic volume.

SOURCE: Kenwood KA-994 Amplifiler no sound from rear speakers.

SOUND FROM YOUR SURROUND SPEAKERS COMES BY BECAUSE OF PROCESSING THAT TAKES PLACE IN YOUR SURROUND CIRCUITS. IF THE SURROUND MODE IS ACTIVATED AND U GET NO EFFECT AND U SURE YOUR SURROND SPEAKERS ARE OPERATIONAL AND FULLY FUNCTIONAL. THEN THE PROBLEM LIES WITH YOUR SURROUND DECODING IN YOUR UNIT. REFER TO QUALIFIED SERVICING AGENTS.

SOURCE: KENWOOD Power Amplifier

The power amp does need an imput signal ie. tuner, cd , and such to play. You can use the power amp with the other equipment.

Sound at 50-70 is not that loud. we have another model same size and samsung that is extremely loud at 25.. i dont understand

Speakers sometimes become damaged when going at high levels from low levels and just switching like that..... This may be the cause for it to be kind of low.... Best not to turn it all the way up or it might just blow the speaker fully..... You may have a a volume limit set on it.... Check that, it might be not allowing your speakers to play any louder.... Otherwise, it is best not to have your speakers blaring, just have them kind of low, and your ears will adjust.... People lose hearing when they have their TV's turned all the way up and all loud... Plus it just kind of disrupts the peace of a home :) Good Luck :D

I have a kenwood kac-8452 4 channel amp that makes the speakers pulse after the volume gets turned up to 10. I also have a kenwood amp doing the same thing with my subs. any ideas?

Its not pulsing, its called clipping. The sound is being clipped due the amp being pushed past is power capacity and distorting the signal. This will damage your speakers very quickly. No amp should be turned more then 3/4 up. If its not loud enough you need to purchase a larger amp or be comfortable with the wattage it produces at 3/4 volume. You may also have speaker wires touching/crossed causing th issue.

you may be using an equalizer? try to pop-up the volume with all tone controls in flat mode. see if it still cuts off. if this is the first time youencounter this then something must be wroing with either your speakers or your amp. unless your ventilation is not good enoughg, you can also try placing a blower on top of your unit to cool it down
