Question about Toshiba SD-V392 DVD Player/VCR

1 Answer

Movie Freezing My Toshiba DVD player is about 2 year old. Now it has started doing something that it never did before. Every movie I play start freezing when its half way through. If I reboot it, it freezes randomly at different points. Even new DVDs with least scratches. My PC plays those same DVDs fine.

Sounds like youe unit is getting tired my freind. they dont make em like they used to. The unit most likly needs a tracking or focus servo alighnment, but to put it on a bench, and have a tech adjust the alighnments, will most likly exceed the cost of a new unit. The laser could also be getting weak, and the replacement optical assemblies for this unit alone cost about 60 bucks. Then you have labor and alighnment cost, as you don't just throw in an optical pickup assembly and it works. Good Luck Please, do not forget to rate this thread.

Usually most DVD's play movie trailers and sometimes advertisement before the movie will play. Once the ads or trailers are done it should go to the menu screen and at that point "play" or something like that should be underlined. If it is you can press play or select on the DVD player then the movie should start : )

If it does this with Any/Every movie no matter what, then your "Brain" in your unit, has gone faulty, and is freezing at the Load the Movie loading instructions, perhaps bad RAM, or a HDD problem whatever, you will have to get it serviced.
