The start button of the keyboard does not work

All the button works but the start button doesn't. I think that is the keyboard. Can it be repaired?

Thanks for your replay. I think the door switch is Ok, because when I press the popcorn buttom the microwave start working. This is the only way to make the microwave work.

I have checked continuity on the pressure switch ribbon and the circuit board - all is good. Can the pressure switch on the thin pressure board go out?

I would first suspect the door switches. The door must be shut and the switches must be working before the contoller will let the oven start cooking. See my other answers for a text file on door switch testing and replacement. Once they have been checked, if you still have toruble, please reply back.

WHY WOULD THE "START" BUTTON NOT RE RESPOND WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS

Either you have a bad door switch (and the microwave thinks the door is still open), or else you have a bad touch-pad (keyboard).

Buttons on microwave

testing every step and fix it. God bless you see the diagram attached

Microwave Buttons Don't Work
Touchpad and Control Panel

If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad and control panel assembly are probably defective.
Touchpad

If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad might be at fault. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.
User Control and Display Board

If the microwave buttons don't work the user control and display board are most likely defective and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons work and some don't, it is more likely a touch pad problem and the touch pad will need to be replaced.
Main Control Board

If the microwave buttons don't work the main control board is most likely defective and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons work the touch pad is likely the problem. If none of the buttons work the problem may be in the main control board.1_24_2013_5_23_47_pm.gif1_24_2013_5_24_54_pm.jpg

Replaced 20amp fuse that was blown. new fuse did not blow, but oven is still dead.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If your microwave oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these: Fuses Door switch Fuses Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it. Door switch If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work

The start button stopped working. Everything else works on my MCD990B.

I think you are right on the money, the keypad control board is vital to the operation of the microwave oven, if the problem cannot be resolved it will require a complete replacement of the above mentioned part, unfortuneately cost should be considered.

My oven is burning my food, i think the thermostat isn't working

It could just be faulty, if all else fails and it just doesn't start working properly, take it back to where you bought it telling them it's faulty?

No numbered touch pad for use setting clock

I think on this one you press the CLOCK/TIMER pad, then enter the desired time using the 10 MINUTES, 1 MINUTE, AND 15 SECONDS pads then press CLOCK/TIMER again.

If that doesn;t work, press STOP / CLEAR then try the above again.

Let us know if it does not work.

Comes on when you open door, and now it finally quit working

I think you've put up with enough hassle from this unit and should get another one. Intermittant flakey problems are hard (read expensive) to fix.
