Question about Pioneer VSX-516-K
What speakers are you using? Are they seperate from the TV set? How is the audio attached to the TV set. What inputs I mean are you using for the speakers and the sound for the TV set?

OK it seems you must double check all of the speakers and the wiring. Try disconnecting all of them and see if it still overloads. If it does, there is a fault in the reciver /amp unit. If it does not overload, connect up each speaker till it overloads, take back off that speaker to see if it overloads again. If it does not, check that speaker, and the wiring. If you check all of the speakers and they seem fine, I would say you have a problem with the reciver /amp stage of the unit.

I'm using 5 speakers that are seperate from the TV set. The front two are sony(100w). The center(100w)pluse 2 rear(60w) are celestion speakers. Also, i have a 100w sub hooked up to the receiver. My TV has a 30w stero audio system. I have a fiber optical out and two RCA out's on my TV. I have tryied them all one at a time and no dice. I'm running a hdmi from my DVD to my TV and using fiber optical cable from my dvd to my reciever for the sound.
