Here is a link to the manual. Just push the latch that is on top at the back of the computer.

E310 beeping when it turned on

Welcome to the user forums. Lights 3 and 4 on indicate a memory failure issue. Suggest unplugging computer, open case, then remove and reseat the memory modules. Diagnostic codes shown here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim3100/en/sm/adtshoot.htm#wp1124612

CMOS battery removal

Remove the power cord, remove the case then you will see the cmos battery sitting inside on the motherboard. It looks like a silver nickel. Just take a flat head screw driver and pop it out. The most popular size is CR2032 and can be bought for less than $5 at any grocery store, pharmacy or walmart.

Face the computer with the front of the computer facing you. At the very back on top of the computer there is a latch that you would push to pop the side of the case off.

Here is a link to the manual. It shows you how to pop the case off.

Dell e310 won't start after power failure ,orange

First up, don't buy a Dell again unless you like old **** with horrible support.

On Topic

- Did you pull out the keyboard and try another USB port (if it is an USB keyboard), or try another keyboard.
- If that doesn't work try clearing the CMOS (remove power plug, power on (to empty capasitors), either remove the CMOS battery and power on, or find a jumper to reset the CMOS. (since this is a Dell a that might not exist but check the manual).

My pocket pc e310 wont turn on. i only have the cradle and no ac charger. i have unplugged the battery for a reset but nothing happens after i plug it back in. when plugged in to the cradle, there are no...

The e310 can't use USB power to charge through the cradle. (It needs more than USB specs allow.) You have to supply +5v DC to the connector at the cradle or the e310 itself. Positive terminal is the center pin/hole, negative terminal is the outside barrel of the plug.

Hello,

I would recommend Avira Anit-virus, its very strong as it will remove all the virus totally from your computer.

Download the latest Avira from the link below, a trial will convince you:

Hi,

here are a few things to try.
remove the power lead from the computer, for 5-10 minutes then reconnect.
press and hold the power button, for more than 3-5 seconds, incase the system has gone into hibernation/standby mode.
Remove any un-necessary connected devices ( usb powered Printers-cameras et,c )

Dell E310 Dimension that won't go on!

Boot the computer into safe mode. Run full-system anti-virus scans to ensure that the system is virus free and to remove any infections that may be present. Reboot system.

Instructions for booting into safe mode:
1) Start system
2) As system is starting, press F8 key
3) Boot menu will come up asking how you want to boot - choose Safe Mode and press ENTER
4) Your computer will start with limited services, no internet connection, etc. This will allow you to check the system and scan for viruses without interference from non-essential services.

Let us know how it turns out.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

My PC not turn on

Toshiba Pocket PC e310 is shipped with an Enabled security feature, which switches off the batteries. In order to be able to turn on the unit, the Battery Switch must be in a battery "Supply" position. Please check if the Battery Switch is in a Stop position or Supply position. The Battery Switch can be found on the lower left edge of the unit, next to the "Cradle Connection Port". Please see the below diagram The Battery Switch supplies or stops power to the Pocket PC. When using the Pocket PC for the first time, slide this switch to the left with the stylus pen. If you have further questions, please refer to the Instruction Manual page 2-3 (19 of 104).

PDA e310, e330 or e740 together with Windows NT 4.0

The Toshiba Pocket PC's e310, e330 and e740 are designed to work together with Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Millennium, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Microsoft Windows NT4.0 is an older operating system, which does not work together with the Toshiba Pocket PC's e310,e330 and e740. Technical background: The Toshiba Pocket PC's have a USB and a Infrared interface to communicate with a Computer. Unfortunately, Microsoft Windows NT4.0 does not support USB nor Infrared. Windows NT supports a serial connection, but the serial interface is not available for the Pocket PC's e310,e330 and e740. Note: There is the possibility to synchronize a PDA over Network or Modem but the ActiveSync Software, which is responsible for the synchronization, will need a "first sync" to establish a "partnership" with the PDA. This "first sync" can only be done via USB.
