Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera
My camera was working fine one day and the following day I went to use it and it just wont take the picture. It turns on and acts like it's gonna take the picture but won't. It's been about a week now and now the screen is black and wont even attempt to try to take the picture. I dont know what to do. I am a real estate agent and have purchased this camera for my job. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks Rose
Be sure to fully charge your batteries if rechargeable - at least 14 hours. Check that your card door is closed good - it's common for the latch to break. There's a switch at the top of the door that has to close before it'll turn on.

Sorry, but my response was not for your model camera - I posted it for another set of complaints. Is this website having problems too? It's possible you're having a CCD problem. Go here for more details about the problem and where to ship it: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.... and http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

I am actually having the same problem... Gryfox, the issue is not a battery issue or SD card door issue. The camera actually turns on, lens comes out, but the viewfinder is black. Mine will show all the menus etc... but nothing external to the camera, its like the camers is blind. All internal functions work but camera is not seeing anything. Is it possible the lens is not working? I spent several hundred on this camera about 6 months ago and I am sorely dissapointed that so soon there seems to be a catastrophiic failure. Any help is greatly appreciated.
