Showing 64MB capacity and not being formatted..
I have a san disk cruse 16GB pendrive , it is not getting formatted and showing, but it is showing 0 bytes. can anyone help me..?
Click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies restore defaults In XP
automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start
you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive
I found that you get best results by ticking one box then returning after it has finished then tick the other box
if still no joy
Right click on your drive select properties then on customize restore Default in W 7
click start click on my computer you should see your pendrive data right click then select format
another way is to control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your pendrive data traveller select format
If you need more help with this post a reply
hope this helps you
SOURCE: formattin of pendrive
Your pen drive probably lost or never had a partition table. Unallocated space means the space isn't allocated to either a partition or logical drive.
Rightclick the drive in Disk Management, there should be an option to create a partition. Right after you create it. It wil ask you to format it.
Let me know whether it helped.

Make sure you are attaching your pen drive into an USB 2.0 port (also called "high speed USB port"). It must be formatted to FAT32, if it still fails you might try the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool. If you are using Windows 98 then you need special driver for your pen drive.
