Question about Sony Mavica MVC-CD1000 Digital Camera

Driver for XP

I'm running Windows XP and trying to read an UNFINALIZED disk via a usb port. Searching various forums it seems to me that my problem is that I need a driver that will recognize the combination of my Mavica cd1000 and Windows XP. I've tried everything I can find, without success. I can read the disk on the camera but none of the several downloads I've tried will enable me to read via the usb cable into windows explorer. If you have found a solution to this problem that really works I would much appreciate some guidance. A forum reply or an email direct to me at [email protected] would be great.

The problem is more likely the operating system compatibility with old kit.if you are running something like 64bit windows 7 then the best solution is to have a dual operating system and install windows Xp.there may be updated drivers some where internet
wise.or you could try running in compatibility mode.
lpt and comm refer to older machines with serial port and parallel ports.if you do use USB you are better off using the rear ones as opposed to front end as they connect direct to motherboard.
if you have already tried go to the Roland site and see what support downloads can offer for system compatibility.otherwise you may find a forum via search engines with a driver.until then your machine will not communicate properly with you computer setup.also right click the executable for the software in its own folder and see if you can choose compatibility mode .best will be windows 2000 or Xp.

My IBM Think Pad 240x hard disk damage; i brought a hard disk, please give me instruction how i install Windows2000 or Win XP, I have a USB CD rom but not supporting.

First I suggest you install Windows XP but you need the Windows installation CD and the product installation code.
Second, the USB ports and therefore the CD ROM drive will not work until Windows XP has been installed, unless the BIOS supports the USB ports and you can make the USB port/CD ROM as the first boot device.
After installing Windows you need to install the ThinkPad's device drivers.
The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista devicedrivers for your model computer, Use this link: - You can download thevarious drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, theywill then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install thevarious drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

I have a technika SH-A366 but my system is saying that i need to install the drivers. why can i get the download from

Interesting, I have read about this problem on other forums, yet I have two of these cameras and have no problems with Win98me, or xp, it dosn't seem to work on my linux computer, you're not using that awful apple stuff are you?
just plug it into the usb port when the pc is up & running, switch on the camera which prompts you for various options, click ok for pc.
the camera pops up in my computer as a removable disk, your photos are in there somewhere.
try plugging it into a friends pc.
no drivers are necessary unless you want to use it as a pc cam

Samsung Pleomax SAM MD-205 driver?

It took me a lot of digging to try and find a driver download. You can try the UHD25-80GB driver (this is for Windows 98, but you can try to see if it fixes the problem): Direct link to zip file:

Also, specs indicate that you need USB 2.0 or 1.1. I had problems connecting via a 4-port hub (that was supposed to support USB 2.0) so ended up connecting directly via my computer USB ("Enhanced" = 2.0) slot, which seemed to work fine.

My computer can't read external hard disk

I am assuming that you are using Windows XP and USB PORTS on both computers.

First, try to use a different USB PORT on the pc, just to rule out a bad one.

Another thing is that the external HDD may not connect to USB 1.1, only to 2.0 for the speed it needs. Check to see if the pc has USB ports on back of case, those are usually 2.0.

Third thing is to see if any other devices that are USB can connect to your pc. If not, you may want to load the USB DRIVERS back on the pc, as they may be corrupted.

Hope that helps.

USB2 Problem Windows thinks My card is USB1.1

what do you mean when you say that the 4 USB2 ports are all occupied?
when you say that there are 2 USB1 ports on the back of the case: are those ports connected to the motherboard at all?

what devices are you using to test your USB ports? is it possible that those are USB 1 devices?
