This will be the nth time you posted the same problem. On your earlier postings and Ask Mes, you were already provided with three (3) probable solutions:

  • cleaning;
  • placing a paper insulator;
  • checking the logic controller (D/A) converter.
And you have done the cleaning only! As likewise noted, HCL would appear to be a limited and regional/domestic model, since you are in the same region, you would be more in a favorable position to secure detailed technical information as to how to resolve the issue.

Perhaps the best approach would be to seek additional technical information within your region, follow the outline/suggested procedures and report to results/status of each.

Incidentally, I am not sure how it is in your country, but I believe it is customary to at least say Thank you especially when asking the same thing over and over again with each time being attended to. So Thank you for using FixYa and good luck with your concerns.

Contrast Ghost

This is common problem observed in many monitors compaq,HP,HCL,IBM this is happens mainly in rainy season due to moisture,by this moisture monitor button circuit get rust inside and button pad remain pressed. so it shows a strip at the middle of monitor like contrast or brightness. So this is minor problem just replace the monitor display control button sensor or circuit.Temporarily you can warm up the monitor by hanging a bulb of 60 watt nearer your monitor to takeoff the moisture.(Dont hang the bulb too near to the monitor). It definitely solves your problem.

CRT MONITOR display

It sounds like this monitor may have what's called the "Windex syndrome" in TV repairs. If someone cleans the screen with a spray cleaner and it drips down the face, it can get onto the circuit board and cause intermittent button troubles. Sometimes it's possible to clean off the corrosion from that area, but the most reliable fix is to clean the board, replace the switches, and remove, check and if necessary replace any resistors connecting to the switches.

Monitor display

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me"

Unfortunately, an HCL HCM782M monitor is an unknown model. However, on similar instances and occurrence of this problem, it would seem that the controls are damp. Specifically, it would be the internal contacts of the buttons. Pls check if you can dis-assemble, remove the board/control/buttons and perform cleaning. Pls pay particular attention to the rubber pads or the small buttons themselves. if I may ask, any recent continuous rain? If yes, this may have contributed or caused your problem.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
