I have gone in with rubbing alcohol and some q tips and scrubbed.this will clean off the ink then clean the cartrages also with alcohol. this should do the trick. hope this helps.

Press the ink button and select cleaning,, do about five cleanings. Print the ink quality test page (from the ink button as well) and see the quality if it improved.
If it still doesnt print its possible the ink is clogged and may need servicing to replace the printer head
You are more than likely out of magenta (red) ink. That printer uses a tri-color cartridge, and it has cyan (blue) magenta (red) and yellow ink. Green is blue + yellow-therefore you do have those two colors; since it will not print anything red or black you will need to replace both cartridges.
just check it all the color toner are proper and they are not empty just remove all the toner and shake it and install it again if it works then great otherwise you need to replace the toner. Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!
Probably one of the red cartridges is empty or near empty or possibly the yellow - it will miss whatever color is low or empty or substitute the next closest shade using the remaining colors if one is out.
this message means that the cartdriges are empty...
if you have bought new cardridges and lights still flash then the printer just dont recognize them right.
possible cause 1:
dirty cartdrige (or printhead) chip contacts > clean them with alcohol and cotton (switch printer off first).

possible cause 2:
bad printer controller: the chip in the printer that communicates with the cartdriges is gone mad... take the printer to service...
all the above are valid assuming you bought original cartdriges if not then do so...
I'm sorry, there is no way to bypass this. You must have a cartridge that is not empty in the R slot in order for that particular model of printer to work.
