Slant fin gf-210 needed part

I need to replace a, I'll call it a washer (I think it was rubber-would that be a gasket?), that allows the water from the tank to fill the main unit for heating. I think it fit into the stem that allows the water to flow from the tank.
At the end of last winter season it fell out onto the floor and I couldn't figure out where it came from, so I put it somewhere (can't find it now) and put the machine up for the summer. So now I've figured out that without this washer/gasket, the part that sticks up from the main unit like a pencil (about an inch long) now forms a seal with the part on the tank that supposed to allow the water to enter the unit and no water enters.
My question is, what is this part called and where can I get one? Also, did another company take over Slant Fin? I would hate to toss out a $100 machine because of a 2 cent part. Thanks, Michael

Slant fin sold the humidifier unit to honeywell. I bought a Slant fin GF 350 and got another identical unit under the Enviracaire name. I also needed just the gasket since mine was disintegrating with age. I just had to spend almost $40 on 2 replacement tank caps for my older slant fin unit. From what the different part web sites said, you can't buy just the gasket, you have to buy the entire tank cap for around $16. Shame, but I couldn't see trashing the unit when a new unit of same quality is over $100. Do a web search for "humidifier replacement parts" and look for "tank replacement cap"

We have a Slant/Fin GF-220 Humidifier and it started leaking. We thought it was maybe because it wasn't on a level surface but it is leaking no matter where it is. Any ideas? recommendations?

Check the drain- make sure it is not plugged due to the calcium in the water. May be plugged.
check for any cracks or misalignment on the plastic water tank.

My Slant/Fin GF 350 suddenly will not heat the water and has the "fill/clean" red light on even though it is clean and has a new filter in it. there are no mineral deposits in the well, and no...

the rusted sensors are the cause of your problem - as soon as the sensors do not conduct an electric current through the water (either because there is no water or because they have decayed), the humidifier shuts itself off. You will need to replace the sensors. var viewReq = new Array();function vu(u) {var i=new Image();i.src=u.replace("&","&");viewReq.push(i);} vu("http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/adview?ai\x3dB3Oe4m7gKTa-UBNCi6Qbh1uhIjbTQzgH1yJ29FJ2PiKQXABABGAEgADgBUIDH4cQEYMn-vYzYpOARggEXY2EtcHViLTMzODQ5NDYyODUzNTE5NTayAQ13d3cuZml4eWEuY29tugEKMzAweDI1MF9hc8gBCdoBTWh0dHA6Ly93d3cuZml4eWEuY29tL3N1cHBvcnQvdDY2NzU2OTctc2xhbnRfZmluX2dmXzM1MF9zdWRkZW5seV93aWxsX25vdF9oZWF0mAKsG8ACBMgCtZzVEeACAOoCIzYxNTMvZml4LmhvbWVnYXJkZW4vaGVhdGluZ19jb29saW5nqAMB6AO8BugDgQn1AwIAAATgBAE\x26sigh\x3dDErSUArfSlA") body { background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0px; padding: 4px; font-family: arial, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; } p { margin:0px; padding:0px; } .spwrap { background: transparent url(/wysiwyg_rte/misspell.gif) repeat-x scroll center bottom; }

No instruction manual

FILLING THE WATER TANKS
1. Before filling the water tanks, push the POWER switch to the “OFF” position and
unplug unit. Refer to cleaning instructions.
2. Remove water tanks from base, turn each tank upside down and remove tank cap
by turning counterclockwise. Fill tank with clean cold tap water.
Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise. Tighten firmly.
3. Carefully pick up tank, since it will be heavy when full, and slippery if wet.
4. Place water tanks on base. Make sure tanks are properly placed, otherwise, the
humidifier will not work correctly.

Humidifier says reserve tank is empty when it's not.

With this model it has not only been discontinued and difficult to find repair and replacement parts. I would suggest a new product. I wish that even in theses times I had more encourageing news because most of the time if its broke fix it..but this time, It's time to go shopping, also the company has sold twice, and now goes under two sub names. Have a great day. Thank you for your time.

How do you change the mineral absorption pad?

The pad is very easy to replace. Simply remove the water tank. The mineral pad floats in the hot water reservoir. Pull out the old one and discard if it has begun to break down. That's all their is to it.

I hope this helps.

Need a replacement tank

http://www.humidifierfilters.com/parts4models.php?brand=slant%20fin&model=gf350

You'll be able to order a replacement tank through this link. They are currently out of stock for your tank but the site says they are getting more in. I would write to them and find out how long.

Good Luck.

Leaking rubber boot

Mine did the same thing at the end of last winter. I did not discover it to be one of the rubber tubes (boots as you say) until I went to use it this past fall. The manuf. said send it back for a replacement (they do not fix these or offer parts) which I did in Nov. and still have not received the replacement. Nice deal for them.

ER3 Message

We had this problem and could not make it go away by refilling, jiggling the float and so on. All the controls appeared frozen during this time.

But unplugging the humidifier for 5 minutes and plugging it back in seems to have fixed it -- no ER3 message now (fingers crossed!0.

Er3--is this an error message?

This sounds like the float switch may be stuck - giving an error message - usually these are not too hard to unstick - it is often a cleaning issue - the manual should show you where the float switch is and how to check it, but if the error message is not listed in the manual, if you are sure it is the correct manual then I would expect it to be a technicians job, else they would list the error message.
