I have a 2 year old freezer - it works great - BUT, we had a power outage and I can't figure out how to reset temperature. It is currently at -25 degrees celcius and it freezes our vodka - so it's way way too cold. I have a fast freeze button and a reset button and one > and one < button. I have tried all combinations and cannot figure it out. I have also unplugged and plugged in to reset to no avail. I cannot find my manual - please help

JennyT just trying to help with this. I assume this is a self defrost model. If so then is there an ice build up on the back wall? If so then the unit isn't defrosting. That is why pushing the Fast Freeze button is no longer working. You can get by however. Remove all the food from the freezer, put a vacumn in the freezer and shut the door. Turn on the vacumn, this will pull the warm air thru the freezer and in 30 minutes to an hour it will be defrosted enough to work until you can get someone to replace the 1 of 3 parts that the defrost system uses. The vacumn is what I use to defrost my nonself defrosting freezer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Check that the air vent is free from anything blocking it at it maybe over heating.

simple stuff, you have a compressor a stat and power. check the receptacle to be sure you have 120 volts . then check the compressor with stat at max cold setting to see if you have 120 volts at compressor. if you do then compresssor is bad =new compressor or new unit. if no power to compressor then stat is bad= new stat. i always recomend new unit cause new stat or compressor wont fix a freon leak.... i have replaced a few compressors that died soon after due to a freon leak. good luck...

the temperature control is bad. when you push the fast freeze it bypasses the thermostat for 12-24 hours depending on which model you have. I am not able to find any parts information with the model number provided but you should be able to find a temperature control at any local appliance parts house or online thru any reputable supplier. The freezer is probably in need of defrosting. This usually occurs when the freezer has been over packed. It needs to be able to ahve air flow through it, there are holes in the back of the freezer and a defrosting element at the top and they need to be clear in order to keep it frost free. It happend to me and we called an engineer out. solved it by using hair dryer to defrost it.

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer is not cooling properly and is now displaying the temperature of 56. It sounds like your freezer is not on, even though it has power the compressor is not turned on. I would suggest pressing either the down or up arrow three times within five seconds.
