Ok so i have the Fujifilm FinePix A310 but this morning I accidentally dropped it about 20 cm to the floor. thing is, everything works fine, except the lens, like i just get weird images on the lcd like i was looking through a termal camera. Do you think if i take it to repair they will be able to fix it? How much do you think itll cost?
thanks in advance!
JP
It can be the IR filter that felt apart. Try to put an IR filter in your lens to see if the image became normal. If it works you need to choise send it to repair or keep the IR filter in front of your lens or disasemble and fix internal IR filter by yourself if you believe can manage to do it...

Sir, You have used the camera since 2004 upto 2008. Now, you know that 4 year is enough time for a digital camera to run. The only solution is to throw it to dustbin & buy a new one. Otherwise, you may spend money in vain with your existing camera. Why?
the problem might be inside. when cameras are dropped cable connections inside loosen. try to bring it to your local camera specialist and have it checked. if you open it yourself it might cause more damage.
After the basics (cleaning the lens, replacing the batteries, etc.), try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji A500 and 90% of the responders on the link.Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix.I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working.Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!
