My dictation pedal for the Olympus AS-4000 used to work on windows XP, but I upgraded to windows Vista and and the foot pedal no longer works. I have tried it on another XP machine and it works fine, so it can't be the foot pedal.
I have downloaded a patch from the internet, but unfortunately this does not seem to have resolved the issue.
I have contacted olympus twice and they have been very unhelpful.
I bought an as-4000 transcription kit with the foot pedal and had it installed on my computer but my computer got a virus and had to be remade and I had to start over with all new programs. I have lost my disc and don't know how I can reinstall my foot pedal.
I rang the business I bought the transcriber from and they have a "patch" on their site which I downloaded and now all works fine. Their address is www.dictation.co.nz First you click downloads, then drop down Step 1 for digital voice recorders, drop down Step 2 for model number, then click drivers and patches.
Hope this helps
No solutions... I just used my transcribing equipment for the first time. Looking for a more permanent solution other than restarting the program too. Really annoying. Can take breaks in between without this happening.

Same problem here, upgraded to vista and foot pedal of Olympus AS-4000 no longer works... which makes transcribing, my job, unbelievably tortuous!
Footpedal stopped working, reinstalled driver and get Code 10 the device cannot start.
