Unrecognized file type error when transferring .avi files from memory card to computer

Message above appears when trying to transfer the files from card to computer (via my printer). Also when trying to playback files on the camera - now says file error. Could I have deleted them accidentally even though there is still some file identifying infomormation there?

SOURCE: 2GB microSD card

Try different formats when formatting it on the computer. There will be FAT, FAT16 (maybe) and FAT32.

SOURCE: Transferring music files to microSD card

It says on the manual this this phone accepts microSD™
memory cards up to 2 GB (depending on memory
card manufacturer and type). Check with your phone manufacturer if there are known issues with a particular memory card brand.

Also, try connecting the memory card to your computer via memory card reader and see if the card will be detected. That way, you can check whether the card is working or not. Save the music files from the PC to the memory card, then see if the music files will appear when you insert the card to your phone.

SOURCE: i cant delete, format and transfer the files to and from the card

What type of card you are using? If you are using an SD card, make sure that it's not locked. You may want to try using different card reader or different computer.

You may try formatting the card under the Disk Management. To do this, please follow the steps below:

1. Right-click 'My Computer' (for Win XP) or 'Computer' icon (for Vista).
2. Select 'Manage'.
3. Locate and open the 'Disk Management'.
4.Connect the card and check if the drive letter for the card will appear.
5. You may right-click on the drive letter and format it.

If you get the same problem, then probably, the card already quit working.

How to upload photo

Transferring images from a Memory Card to a Windows Computer Follow the steps below to transfer images from a memory card to a computer running Windows. Step one: Insert the memory card Follow the steps below to insert the memory card into the HP All-in-One.
  1. Turn the memory card so that the label faces left, and the contacts are facing your HP All-in-One.
  2. Insert the memory card into the appropriate slot on the HP All-in-One.
NOTE: Some portable USB flash drives with a read-only partition, such as U3 smart drives, might be incompatible with the front mass-storage port on your HP All-in-One. These read-only partitions are added by the drive manufacturer and may include utilities and other software. Refer to the manufacturer for additional details about your drive. When the memory card is inserted correctly, the Photo light next to the memory card slots begins to blink. The message Reading... appears on the color graphics display. The status light next to the memory card slots blinks green when the card is being accessed. If a memory card is inserted incorrectly, the status light next to the memory card slots blinks amber and the color graphics display shows an error message such as Card is in backwards or Card is not fully inserted. CAUTION: Never attempt to remove a memory card while it is being accessed. Doing so can damage files on the card. Safely remove a card only when the status light next to the slots is not blinking.
Step two: Transfer images without using the HP Photosmart software After inserting the memory card into the HP All-in-One, the memory card appears as a drive on the computer. Follow the steps below to transfer the images on the memory card to the computer.
  1. Press the Photo button to display the Photo menu.
  2. Press the down arrow button (c01133817.jpg ) to select Transfer to computer .
  3. Follow the prompts on the computer to complete the transfer of images.
NOTE: If there are photo files on the memory card that have never been transferred before, a dialog box on the computer asks whether you want to save the photo files to the computer. Click the Transfer option and all the new photos from the memory card are saved to the computer.By default, the image files are saved in month and year folders depending on when the photos were taken. The folders are created under the C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Pictures folder.

File error

Hi,
It is picture file that stops file transfer function, delete that picture and continue or go to memory card through my computer > mass storage drive and delete that file or copy rest of files and past in computer some where like my documents etc.
That particular picture file DSC03270.jpg is incomplete/ corrupted and causing problem in files transfer operation. Either delete it or bypass it and transfer rest of files from camera.
After transferring files to computer, format memory card to avoid any problem in next time as option would be in camera menu.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

I can't save files or data directly to memory card

Samsung s3310 cannot import files to memory card directly,When we are transferring through Bluetooth. When we are transferring files through Bluetooth,it stores in default to phone memory and this memory cannot be changed to memory card memory.
There is one way to transfer large files with 500megabytes size through compression of file and splitting up to many sizes. We can use any software for compression and splitting up."ERROR MESSAGE:memory is full" can be avoided through this above way.

Kodak Easyshare V803 "unrecognized file format."

Sounds like there is a fault in the SD card.

Try an alt. card reader and computer.

Hopefully you will have the chance to retrieve the pics. If not ;(

Once pics are transferred. The SD card needs to be formatted. Remember this will delete all data on the card.

Videos transfer to PC as .jpg files

The best way to transfer is using a memory card through a generic USB card reader. Try not using the USB cord for a while.

Error

Can you play at least one music from your mp3 player? If yes, the file that you're trying to play when this message appears may be corrupted. Try having another copy of the music that you want to play on your mp3 player. If you can't play any music that you transferred, possible causes could be :

1. Your mp3 player was reformatted to another file system that is unrecognized by the mp3 player.

2. The flash memory of your mp3 player was bad
3. The songs that you're trying to transfer is not known by the player ( file types other than .mp3)

Unrecognized file format

Honestly, try transferring the images to your computer without using the Easyshare software. This software has been causing some problems for some users. After you have the images on your computer...open them up and then save them as JPEGs. This should help fix the problem with the transferring.
