I have a F36645 / CTC203CX TV that has a snowy picture and green bars about 1" to 6"s flashing. The green flashing is getting worse so theres always some on the screen and there is starting to be bright purple lines as well. Can anybody tell me where I need to begin looking for the problem?

Not sure what causes it but it can be fixxed by your local repair guy, I just had mine fixxed for under a hundred bucks, he takes the back off and with a tiny screw driver adjust a few screws to near brand new perfect picture.. and it has been good ever since
well the vertical deflection IC is good but you need to get the conversion chip for it , it controls the vertical , horizontal, color, color alignment ,
it would be wise to get it done soon before anymore dammage is done
If you are on cable, first run the cable wire from the wall directly to the TV, eliminating any cable box and/or VCR. If channel 2 is snowy but the rest (especially 3-6) are clear, it is most certainly a cable problem and not a TV problem. The TV uses the exact same circuits for channel 2 to 6 (VHF-LOW) so if the tuner was bad and 2 was snowy, 3, 4, 5 and 6 would be snowy too. Bring a second TV into that room, disconnect the cable wire from the RCA and connect it to the second TV. Is channel 2 on the second TV as snowy as it was on the RCA?
