My sunroof has always worked fine, until the other day I went to close it and it made a pop. Now it wont seal completely nor will it move at all. When I push the button it just makes a popping noise, I can hear the motor spinning though. I've hear sunroofs can come off the track, which may be the case but I cant see anything due to the fact that the headliner covers everything.
See technician immediately before more damage is caused to motor, channel, gear and locks, which would be even more difficult to replacw due to scarcity of spares

it will probably be your guidrail. you need to check it first,dont try to force it. it can cause more damage.

if you do not use the sunroof on a regular basis the water standing in the track fills the cable tube and causes it to rust. unfortunately the only way to fix it is to replace the entire sunroof track. they do not sell parts separately except for the motor. to test the motor remove the 2 screws in the cover the switch is attached to. slide the cover foeward and it will come off. leave the wires plugged in and take the 2 10mil bolts out of the motor and it will come off. then try the sunroof switch and see if the motor works. if so, you need a new track. if not check voltage to motor. sanders paint and body 34695

This is probably due to worn ball joints. If you hear it especially when turning into a parking spot or at a standstill, this is usually worn ball joints. Let me know what else I can do for you.

Please check and fix your sunroof, windows and front glass for leaks. Replace the seals if necessary.
