I've had a Dacor ERD36 for over 4 years. A couple of days ago I used the oven with no problem, but today the oven door won't open. I did not use the self cleaning feature on the oven. I tried pressing the Cancel/Secure button, and even shutting off the power to the oven, but nothing seems to work. Please let me know what else I can try!
Hi... Having problems with my Dacor ERD36 as well, I came across this posting that might help with your particular situation of not being able to open the oven door.

In case you can't get to the forum link, here is the response:
Have a 2nd person at the circuit breaker turn off power. You press and hold the cooktime keypad. The other person turns the breaker back on. The display will show the 4-character ID code of the ERC (e.g., 1180). You have 30 seconds between each test.
Press and hold these keys on sequence:
convection bake standard bake pure convection broil timer 2 (momentary push only) stop time clock
Finally, we arrive at the test we want: Open the door, push and hold cook time for 10 seconds. Self clean latch motor will activate. Door latch will complete a cycle. The test will end the ERC will display the time of day.
Complete this test within 30 seconds or you'll get an F0 code (stuck keypad).

I found the answer on other posts on this website and it saved me $500! I had the same problem with my Dacor Model ECD2278 double oven. After I ran the self cleaning the top oven would not come on and the lower oven ran almost double the temp that was set. To fix: disconnect power to the oven at the circuit breaker. Open the oven door. You'll see the grille/grate/steel cover in front of the door latch mechanism, and it should have about 4 screws holding it in place. Remove the screws then remove the grille cover. On my model the tiny red reset button was on the right side on top of a black plastic round piece which is about 1" in diameter. Press the little button down til it clicks.

This IS SO EASY !! I have the DACOR 48...no tools, 5 minutes and you are done! It took me 8 years of frustration and I fixed it TODAY !!
Just open the door, latch the small hook that binds the two hinges together. Next try to slowly close the door until resistance. Just when you think you might break something push up another 2 inches. Now lower the door , unhook the latch to seperate the hinges (latches) nad PRESTO a snug fit !!
