HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT31N ATA set the DVD region to 0

Recently this DVD is just fine and can read/ write perfectly without problems now I did some tweaks and explore and didn't know accidentally set the DVD region to 3, now is there anyway to change it back to 0 or a way so that it can read a DVD with files on them for OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Can you hear it "spinning" the media? If not, you have a "defective" unit (motors or bearings).
If it spins, but nothing is read, then you have a "defective" unit (dead laser).
Take it back to where you bought it, and get them to test it, to prove that it is "bad", and then for them to replace it.

this may happen as your DVD reader's lance may got weak. plz check for the same and replace lance if problem exist.

I read over the solution to the problem by deleting the lower keys in the registry,,restarted and it works fine again,,thank you.
The 1st time I tried it, there was now upper or lower keys because i had uninstalled the driver 1st.
