Call for service, could be a computer board, fan motor, or defrost system. cheaper in the long run to call for service

I called for service but they cancelled the appointment at the last minute. So, I cleaned out my refrigerator by taking all the foods from refrigator and freezer out totally, unplugged the refrigerator, gave the inside a throughout cleaning with a damp towel and let it stay unplugged overnight about 10 hours. Then, I plugged it back adjusted the temperature for the frig at 37 degree F, and the freezer 0 degree F. Voila, it started cooling again. I left a thermometer in the frig and checked back in 24hrs, the temperature went back to 37 degree F as the normal level. The frost in the freezer was gone. Now, I have my refrigator working again.

Freezer section evaporator fan motor bearing are going out. This would be indicted by a high pitched squealing noise. Have the fan motor replaced and it should solve your problem.

SOURCE: My LG bottom freezer, french door evaporator fan

Defrost heaters are not coming on. Check with multi meter..is it frost, or ice freezing under the fan-blades. That my friend is a blocked drain hole. Otherwise ohm out defrost heater should read 30to69 ohms of resistance. Timer may be stuck, or a hi-temp safety switch is not closing (a small disc at the top of the coils) when it comes out of defrost. Carweful with that gun, Jim! Too much heat warps all that chinese plastic. Chris in bigbEar

SOURCE: fan runs all the time - freezer frost build up

The fan should cycle during recovery period after you opened the unit and then shut off. Make sure there is plenty of space around the unit for ventilation. If you've done this and you said it's 3 months old? Call for warrantee service.

I have some frost on back wall and some food freezes now and then.

Assumeing you are saying frost on the back wall of the refigirator, I would increase the temperature for the refrigirator area. If that does not help you may have problems with the defrost system.

I have an LG refrig french door model LFX 31925ST/00. Purchased less than 2 months ago. The top plastic freezer door continues to get an ice build up on the front of the drawer only. Is this normal? ...

It sounds like a loose or bad seal on the top area of the freezer door. Use the old dollar bill test to see how good the seal is. Hold a dollar bill up to the seal and close the door. there should be some resistance. compare the resistance between the top and bottom of the door.

Frost on back wall of freezer

There is a door that is not closing 100% of the time. There is warm moist air entering the fridge and building up on the back wall.

Make sure all doors are closing. Sometime the bottom door will close on one side but not the other.

Good Luck.

Frig not cold but freezer is ice maker not making much ice either

Is your fan blowing in the freezer? Frost on the back wall of the freezer usually indicates a defrost problem... defrost themostate, heaters, take back panel off and check evap for frost build up and if your fan in working.
