Ink level problem

I recently got the large black ink cartrige refilled at a CartridgeWorld, and they gave me a sheet that told me what to do after replacing the cartrige to make sure it works. Well, the sheet said to select "refilled cartridge" on some menu, but when I put the cartridge back in the printer, no menu like that came up. In fact, it worked normally, but before every print job it would say that it couldn't detect the ink level in that cartridge, but when I pressed "ok", everything worked fine. But now when I turn it on, the alarm light goes on and it says "The remaining level of ink cannot be detected" and no matter what button I press the screen won't go away and I can't print anything. Help please?

While holding the stop/reset button, you will see the Alarm light flash next to on/off button. Continue to hold stop/reset button until you hear cartridge move inside. Alarm light will stop flashing also.

There is the "Stop/Reset" button. I found in the manual that you should push this button at least 5 seconds, then it is supposed to get reset and should work correctly. It didn't work at once in my case, but somehow it got better after some time. BL
