I can turn my DSC-P71 on and make any changes to the settings I like, but when I press the button to take a picture (or video...) nothing happens. I have reset the device and attempted new batteries. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem .Ican see pictures on LCD but thet stick is not recognized by computers. we tried at wal-mart and other shops too. please help me. these picturs are very precious to me. Thank you.
look under your camera . get a thumbtack or paperclip you should see a tiny hole that should say reset. if you hold this button for a few seconds it will put all setting back to original settings. try that and let me know how it works for you. I have the dsc-p71 your models reset button maybe located somewhere else, just look for it and try this out. good luck.
