Can not transfer to computer

I have a Gr-d270 camcorder and am having trouble transferreing video to my computer. I use the Firewire and everything, and when i hit capture video, a pop-up comes up saying no video capture device detected. I have tried it on numerous computers with numerous softwares and all have the same effect. What should i do about this?

Hi, I had the same problems 'till I picked up this: Koutech PCI to 1394a Card Model KW-582V2 It apparently contains some Texas Instrument hardware (or drivers?) that will make the camcorder transfer with ease! It did the trick perfectly and is really low in price! Sorry, not a real technical answer, but this is what worked! Scott

Copying from TAPE to PC requires 4 things. The video cam where the TAPE will be played, a FIREWIRE compatible cable, a FIREWIRE card installed on your computer and a SOFTWARE that supports a firewire device that would record the video.

Unlike Digital Videos that you can just copy and paste the video file from the video cam to the computer, the tape to pc transfer is more of recording the video in from the video cam by playing it in real time while the computer is recording it.

This is a sample of a FIREWIRE card that is installed inside a computer.
An external USB version of this is also available.

This is a sample of a FIREWIRE cable.

Windows MOVIE MAKER is an example of a software that can be used to record the videos. It supports FIREWIRE devices.

Downloading videos to a pc

here some steps on how to transfer it to your computer.

Install the cd driver camed with your camcorder to your pc
Use USB to connect your camcorder and your pc after that it should be recognize
If not then do step 1
Use Ulead movie producer or Windows movie maker or any Video editing software
Upload it and let it stream
After uploading all videos save it on any various types of videos you like

Now your videos are on your computer

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video to your PC if your computer (PC) did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, & if your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too.

Your camcorder has only a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder, when capturing video just make sure your camera is in playback mode.

Movies

Firewire is the only way to transfer unless you are running Windows 98 as those are the only USB drivers available for this camera and wont load on XP or Vista.

I want to capture movie from dv tape to compaq presario notebook

You are mentioning that you are trying to transfer video though USB port, that is not possible, you have to connect the to the pc through the DV port from the camera to the Firewire port of the PC, if your PC doesnt have a Fire wire port, install a IEEE1394 firewire card in one of your PCI slots.

JVC gr-d270 driver

Hi guys,
I have a JVC gr-d270. the CD came along with it is useless. my computer cannot detect the video cam hrough USB. I have to transfer my videos to my computer. Can anybody help me with the driver atleast. Im using windowsXP sp 2.
