I've acer travelmate 4500 laptop. Till yesterday it was working fine, but today i donno what happend to it.. the screen display is completely dull. that I couldn't see the display and if I closely observe the screen display, there is a display which is not active ( in the sence its not actively bright)... please let me know the possbile reasons and the solutions.... thank you

If you can see some kind of display when you shine a flashlight on it at an angle, either your CCFL lamp is bad or your inverter board is bad. Neither part should be too expensive not to get it fixed.

The possible reasons is that you have turned down your brightness and contrast without realizing it, to fix this simply look for a brightness key on your keyboard and turn it up. If it is missing or did not fully work, see if you can notice any image and try to get into your Display properties, click the setting tab and go into advanced and turn up your brightness and contrast from there. If this does not work, im afraid to say you have damaged your LCD screen and this would result in your dull screen appearance. Get a computer technician to take a good look at it to see what has happened if this is the case
