Kenmore Ultrawash QuietGuard 3 Dishwasher not draining or rinsing

Hello:

Our Kenmore Ultrawash QuietGuard 3 Dishwasher is not draining completely at the tend of the cycle. If we press the "Cancel and Drain" button, it will drain, but it won't automatically drain at the end of the cycle. Also, i don't think it is washing or rinsing properly, as there is a white film on all the dishes. It looks like a hard water mark.

I have the same issues as above but when I manually remove some of the water and press the 'Cancel/Drain' button again it will drain. Thanks, Sandra

kenmore ultra wash quietguard 3..will not drain any water it was working fine but one day I went to empty and the bottom was full of water, when I hit cancel/drain it just hums...what do I do ???

When I first got it it was working fine. Now it won't drain, leaving dirty water on the bottom. I don't think the pipe is drained because I push the cancel/drain button and it then drains. Sometimes it will drain after 2 times of pushing the drain/cancel button. Other times, on very rare occasions it will leave some soap in the soap compartment. This doesnt' happen very often and I am using liquid soap that is approved for this model. But it doesn't drain and for something being so new (only 2 years old) it shouldn't have problems.

Kenmore portable dishwasher model 665-17844400 does not fully empty. I have to use the cancel button to get it to empty.

Not draining may either need new drain motor. or something is blocking the drain pipe.

Spots on dishes means you are using to much detergent or the wrong kind of detergent.

Your owners manuel should tell you what type to use.

I have read many posts but no one mentions the airgap part. If the airgap piece gets dirty or clogged it will not drain. I recommend putting in a new one when a new dishwasher is installed.

Please do not keeping justifying the kenmores lack of engineering by telling people it is a clog somewhere. I just installed a Kenmore and used a new drain hose, air gap and connection to the sink and on a test run with no dishes it still had water in the bottom. It took two end and rinse cycles to purge all the water (including the water in the hose).

POOR DESIGN. The design stinks and if they new about the problem it was not corrected on subsequent production runs. Fire the Kenmore design engineers!!!

Make sure you have a clean drain line and Airgap (that chrome piece on the sink covers the airgap piece)

Many people realize the dishwasher connects to a little thing on top of the sink, some even know that it is called an air gap. However, many people wonder "what is an air gap for?" The air gap is there to prevent the water from being siphoned out of the dishwasher. When water flows through the drain hose

, it creates a suction on the water still in the dishwasher. The air gap, makes a hole for air to get in. That way, the water only leaves the dishwasher when it supposed to, when it is pumped out. Another benefit of an air gap is that if the drain hose becomes clogged, the dishwasher can still pump out the water. Instead of flowing through the hose, as it should, it can flow out the air gap and into the sink.

Unlock control light by holding the heated dry button for 4 seconds. Same thing to lock.

Look at your dishwasher manual to see how to clean your filter....you'll know why you are having problems when you clean all the gunk. Once you get everything put back together, go to Walmart and purchase Lemi Shine(near dishwasher soap) and use as per directions. You'll be so happy to see that white film gone immediately.

Are you using rinse aid?
that may help with the film.you may also have stuff down in the trap causing the water to drain slow.

Look at the control panel and you will see a button that says "Cancel" and "Drain" Press the button after the wash cycle has completed and the machine will drain completely.

The cancel light is on because the cycle maybe paused or canceled. The lit red button should say Cancel/Drain. If you already tried to press start and if it won't finish the cycle then try pressing the Cancel/Drain to drain and start over.

The pump is going on you. The cost may be more than the value of the washer. Get a new unit and save your money.

You may want to try:
Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
Wait for two minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.
Press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel.
Check to make sure that there's no standing water in the bottom of your dishwasher. Standing water in your dishwasher may indicate that your dishwasher has stopped mid-cycle. You will need to press the "Cancel/Drain" button before you can reset your dishwasher control panel.

My Bosch dishwasher is driving me crazy! When it finishes a wash cycle it beeps twice every 10 minutes until the door is opened. We can't run the dishwasher at night after dinner unless we're SURE we...

Hello there,

It would help to know the model number of the dishwasher, but on many Bosch dishwashers, you can switch the cycle cycle completion signal off as follows:

1. While holding the right-hand CANCEL/DRAIN button, also press and hold the ON/OFF button
2. When the LED above the CANCEL/DRAIN button illuminates and the beeping starts, release both buttons
3. Press the right CANCEL/DRAIN button repeatedly until the beeping tone is at the desired volume, i.e. silent!
4. Press the "ON/OFF" button again to set the volume.

On models with the wash cycle buttons on the top edge of the door, the CANCEL/DRAIN buttons aren't always explicitly labelled CANCEL/DRAIN. These buttons are also labelled RESET on some models.

On models with 3 and 4 wash cycle buttons, the right CANCEL/DRAIN button is the third button when reading from left to right. On models with 5 wash cycle buttons, the right CANCEL/DRAIN button is the fourth button when reading from left to right.

Please try the above then let me know if you need further assistance. Please state the model number or series (i.e. Integra) of your washer if/when replying.

Hi,

To turn off the cycle completion signal on a Bosch dishwasher, please do the following:

1. Press and hold the right "CANCEL/DRAIN" button then press and hold the "ON/OFF" button
2. When the light above the "CANCEL/DRAIN" button illuminates and the beeping starts, release both buttons
3. Press the right "CANCEL/DRAIN" button repeatedly until the tone is at the desired volume, i.e. silent
4. Press the "ON/OFF" button again to confirm/set the desired volume.
