I received one of your cuisinart smartpower basics, model# CB-18 as a gift. I used this several times w/out problems then put it away for a few months. Now, I have it back out and tried to use it but I can not get the glass jar to line-up and sit securely on the base.(lock into place) I have know idea why this is happening, perhaps I'm missing a part???? Nothing seems to be broken. I could just be retarted and there is some trick to it, I've never had this problem before. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,

Remove the blades and punch out the shaft. Clean it all and then reassemble it with lots of water pump grease (it's waterproof). Seizing happens because liquid goes down between the shaft and housing and sets.
You can replace the blade assembly. The link below shows unavailable, but it shows the screw cap.
The gasket goes between the cutting assembly and the glass. So you slip it on over the top of the blades and then put the glass jar over top of that. Screw the bottom cap on to tighten everything together.
The thermal fuse is blown. You can buy a replacement from RadioShack for $1.69 You have to remove the old one and solder in the new one. If youre "handy" its very easy. Take it to a repair shop, you pay about the same as a new one. Its too bad that most electronics made today are cheaper to throw away and buy a new one rather than fix them when they break.
