Garmin C530 need pin to unlock

You have a problem only Garmin can solve, unless you remember your pin or go back to where you set the security location

No, there is no master PIN but if you take it back to the security location you set when you first installed the GPS, it will automatically unlock and you can then reset the PIN number.

you will have to ask the previous owner for the lock code. if he doesn't know it, get you money back from him. the only way to unlock a garmin is to know which location the code was first programmed in or by sending it back to garmin with proof of purchase. this is an anti-theft feature.

Take it back to the 'secure location' as indicated in your service manual. It will automatically unlock when it gets a full satellite signal. You have to enter the PIN number twice when setting up the unit. You should always use a number which is familiar to you so you can remember it. If you can't remember it, and if your secure location doesn't unlock the unit, you will need to send the unit to Garmin to unlock it. You will need your receipt for Garmin to unlock the unit.

When you first setup the GPS, you can setup a safe location, go back to your safe location, there will be not lock on it then.

It will either require a code, or be turned on in your security spot.
Your security spot is usually set up at initial set up, this can be where ever you were when you first set up your gps device. (Driveway, Garage, Dining room) if you are within a meter or so from that piont it should unlock without a code.
If you don't recall this either, then perhaps it was never set up and it is a default code.

Try all of the obvious codes, 1111, , 1234, 2222, 3333, 0000, etc.
Failing all of this, it will have to go back to garmin to have it unlocked.

To reset, you have to go to the home location. That is the security location.

The only other solution to unlock this model GPS is to send it to Garmin with the proof of purchase. They are the only ones who can unlock your GPS. If you read the instruction booklet that came with the GPS, they expain the same thing I am indicating here. Call the Garmin support for details.

There is no way to just "reset" the PIN. If you don't have the correct PIN, you must take the unit to the location at which the PIN was set. Your only other option is to return the unit to Garmin.

Garmin normally replace your unit with a refurbished unit. Yes call Garmin and ask for a new unlock code. Normally they provide a new registration ID (yellow piece of paper with the unlock code for the latest mapsource map and accessories which it also included with the refurbished unit.
