Question about Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer
My maytag neptune dryer quit heating, after my wife changed the temp setting on the console from regular, to extra low drying temperature. The heating element reads 10.5 ohms. The thermal cutoff reads 0.02 ohms. The hi-limit thermo reads 0.02 ohms. The power coming into the dryer is 240 volts. What can I check or need to replace.

One of two things... 1) Replace the start switch! (thats the most common problem) 2)next to the start switch is a relay with four wires going to it(behind panel). replace only if start switch doesnt work AS THEY ARE EXPENSIVE!!!!! GOODLUCK!

I have exactly the same problem. What can we do?
I push start and the dryer just reads 8.8. I wait and it will start on its own, takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 12 hours. Tried unplugging it hitting start again but still just reads 8.8.
