The picture just keeps jumping on my Toshiba 42H81. The TV will show perfect for about 2 hours, then the picture starts jumping. If I turn off the tv for a few hours, when I turn it back on, it shows good for about 30 minutes, then the picture starts jumping again. Now the jumping is constant.
Last year, I had the same problem and I paid a repair man $400 to change the original board with a refurbished board. However, it seems like the problem has reoccurred.
Can someone tell me what is the problem here or is this tv a lemon? It doesn't make sense to me why would I encounter the same problem if the whole board was changed.
Re: Toshiba 42H81 - Constant jumping picture on scren
It needs the hyper module replaced
might as well have em do the stk packs too
its too old to be a lemon
the part that was replaced was not new it was in someone elses tv and had problems there too
the trick is to find someone that will fix it so it lasts

Sounds like a vertical sync issue on the chassis board. However you also mentioned the picture moves left to right or vice versa which would suggest a horizontal sync issue. Either issue is not repairable by the DIY. Sync issues must be isolated using test equipment usually found in repair shops. My suggestion push it down a hill and enjoy the show then go buy that flat screen you almost purchased last week.
