Let the battery drain completely (unplugged from computer). It usually takes 5 to 6 hours to drain completely.
Then plug back in and hold the back and down button at the same time. Zune should resume functioning afterwards. All that is needed is a recharge. I hope this helps. This worked for me when mine didn't want to turn on or charge.
My zune just went black screen and will not recarge or anything else.

u can "reset" the zune using while holding the back key and the up key on the control pad. it worked for me

I have had A zune before the charger that comes with it only works for a few charges you will have to get a differant chager for it, it worked for me
