What are the HIPAA Encryption Requirements?

The HIPAA encryption requirements have, for some, been a source of confusion. The reason for this is the technical safeguards relating to the encryption of Protected Health Information (PHI) are defined as "addressable" requirements.

Furthermore, the HIPAA encryption requirements for transmission security state that covered entities should "implement a mechanism to encrypt PHI whenever deemed appropriate". This instruction is considerably vague and open to interpretation - hence the confusion. https://www.netsec.news/hipaa-encryption-requirements

The term "addressable" does not mean the safeguard is something that can be put off until another day. It actually means that the safeguard should be implemented, an alternative to the safeguard that produces the same results should be implemented, or a covered entity has to document (with a justifiable reason) why no course of action has been taken in respect of this safeguard.
The phrase "whenever deemed appropriate" could, for example, be applied to covered entities that exchange communications via an internal server protected by a firewall. In this scenario, there should be no risk to the integrity of PHI from an outside source when confidential patient data is at rest or in transit.

Once a communication containing PHI goes beyond a covered entity´s firewall, encryption becomes an addressable safeguard that must be dealt with. This applies to any form electronic communication - email, SMS, instant message, etc. - except in the case where a patient has given their express, written permission for their PHI to be communicated without encryption.

WHATEVER I ;PUT INTOA PROBLEM IHAVE NEVER GET AN SWER AGAIN WHAT DOES WPA PASSWORD MEAN

OK! Quite briefly...WPAstands for Wi-Fi protected access. It is a standard security protocol implemented by Wi-Fi alliance to secure wireless computer networks. WPA standard is an advancement over WEP (standing for -->Wired Equivalent Privacy) standard that had some security issues... WPA implements most of the IEEE 802.11i standards and provides greater security than WEP.

My son has a TI-84 Plus calculator and it is completely frozen. There is a message on the screen that reads " RAM cleared". Below that message it says "Press ALPHA F1-F4 to locate shortcut menus" but it...

The calculator OS has been upgraded to the version 2.53 MP.
For this version, whenever you remove batteries (or replace them) and turn calculator ON, you are reminded to Press [ALPHA][F1-F4] to locate Shortcuts Menu.
The calculator also asks the user to press either
[1:Do NOT show Again]
[2:Continue].

Here is what these cryptic messages mean.

Certain functions implemented on the new OS are available by pressing the [ALPHA] key followed by F1, F2, F3 or F4.
Since you may forget how to get to them, the calculator gently reminds you that there are other functions accessed only by pressing the [ALPHA] key.
It also gives you the option to flash the reminder every time the calculator memory is reset (CONTINUE) or NOT to SHOW the REMINDER again.

Usually after the RAM cleared message, press [2:Continue] or any other key but [1: ] to keep being reminded how to access the new functions.
Once a key is pressed the screen is cleared and you have the solid blinking cursor.

My phone keeps shutting off every time i go to type a text message

If it's truly a loose battery, more than likely it's the connections that are making secure contact. You can try with a thin pinted implement to pry the connection tabs on the battery compartment (the connectors onthe battery itself are fixed and imovable) outward ever so slightly and that will make for a better connection. But use care so that you don't over bend and break the connections.

Also look for any corrosion onthe connections which can cause intermittent failures.
