SOURCE: my battery is charged for

I'm having the same problem. Actually, I have had it 3 times now. the first two times, there was a loose wire on the gas pedal. Go from underneath it and pop the tabs with a flathead screw driver. Then go back from the top and you should be able to snap it all the way out. If it's just like my problem, then you'll see a wire hanging off the harness. 3rd time around now for me, but this time 2 wires were off, so I'm searching for a wiring diagram to see what those wires connect to!! Hope that helps.

Steering vibrates at any speed wheels have been balanced what could it be. when putin nuetral at at any speed the vibration stops .

Out of balance wheels, shifted belts on the tires, loose steering parts can cause a shimmy while driving. Also, if the rotors are warped and the pads are stuck on the slides it will give you a brake pulsation that can be felt constantly even when you're not on the brakes.

REPLACED STEERING GEAR BOX IN 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE NOW WHEEL IS OFF CENTERED

IF you have a rack and pinion steering pull the steering shaft of the pinion splines and centre the wheels . Centre the wheel and put the steering shaft back on the splines. If it is master splined then centre the steering wheel and adjust each side tie rod until the wheels are centred . (one in -other out ). Remember that when the wheels are straight ahead then the steering wheel will be slightly to the left (USA) to compensate for the camber of the road.. IF a steering box pull the pitman arm off --centre the wheels and the steering wheel and refit the pitman arm

Need a diagram to put together a 1989 caddilac eldorado power steering, tilt and telescope steering wheel and column.

Excellent tutorial here that helped me when I had a loose steering wheel on my 1988 Deville.

This one is not from an 89 Eldorado, but all GM Tilt/telescoping steering columns from that time are virtually identical:

My 2000 escalade has begun pullg sharply to the right whe the steering wheel is held loosely. The tire are aligned properly and there is not vibration at any speed.

I would start looking at brake issues

If you haven't taken them apart in a year or more,
start there

A real noticable pull to one side, doesn't telll me
that alignment is okey

the release for the tilt mechanisum is made of pot metal and had cracked apart causing this to happen. Any GM dealer can order the tilt housing to repair this

At 45 miles an hours the jeeps shakes wildly why

Check for rocks stuck in tread , check for proper air pressure in tires, jack up each wheel/tire and spin it to see if tire or wheel is out of round (up and down motion) or wheel is bent (side to side motion) . Up and down could be either broken belt in the tire or a bent wheel either one. If it isn't a tire or wheel problem then you need to have a mechanic check steering linkage , ball joints, esp if they haven't been kept serviced regularly.

Vehicle experiencing front end 'shimmy' at all speeds (worst @ 40-45mph). Feels like a busted belt in tire. Took it to tire shop and it was found that the tires were intact, but the steering wheel fails...

You need to have the front end checked out at an alignment shop. Possible causes are worn tire rod ends or control arm bushings, failing drive axle CV joint, loose stabilizer bar, etc.

Transmission problem

My opinion is strain yes damage no. You know when you turn the wheel all the way to one side the tires are "grinding" into the pavement this causes you to give it a little extra gas to get the car to move...right? But I don't think that would cause damage. If I'm wrong then you have the worlds' worst engineered car!

Turning lock to lock as you describe is making the steering pump work hard since the wheels are stuck to the pavement.

I'm calling it B.S.
