When i power up my htc touch diamond phone, it gets as far as the windows mobile introductory page and then stops at that point , still showing the windows page. i have tried powering it off which only can be achieved by pulling the battery out. is there any possible cure for this?
I called and spoke to HTC ..apaprently there are issues with some of the handsets .. and its power related ... the best this is to do 2 things to solve any number of issues....
A: Get a replacment battery, and recharge it fully without turning the phone on. So plug it in and charge it until the white pulsating light is fully lit and not 'breathing' ..as they say. Once fully charged then turn on your phone...
B: Once on ... 'hardware' reset it - (you turn on the phone, holding the volume down button, and the hang up button and pressing the 'software reset button, at the same time)
Should solve it ... IF it dosent .. and your getting the same issues after battery replacment, software and hardware resets ...you've basically got a 'hardware' issue with the phone in which case you need a replacment or repair... (make sure your phone is insured)
Hope that helps folks...
p.s.
My phone eventually stopped charging ...nothing, no power so i sent it back for a replacment which im waiting for to arrive...

Usually answered in minutes!
my phone gets that far and then reboots.. progressing to the windows launch screen where it re-boots again... etc..etc. until the battery runs down. Sprint seems to know this is a common problem; after calling (on a wireline phone) to report the problem, they agreed to just send another phone.
Very disappointing since I love the phone and its services when it decides to work
yes same problem ... did you ever find out wether is was a battery issue?!
hi mazkan, had the battery fully charged, and as i left the phone to boot-up the phone was running warm (not connected to power supply). did you ever get a cure for this problem?
hello again. i posted this earlier and i believe i have cured the problem. the hard reset boots up the phone again but i had to use a soft reset to get it to stay on long enough to carry out the hard reset (at least that is what i think i done) but its up and running again anyway. thanks for the help folks. the hard reset is found by googling it!!
i am having the same problem. I am hoping since the phone is within 30 days. I can get an exchange. I've also been hearing that the phone's power button gets stuck.
