You will need:

1) the recovery disk provided by Acer

or

I have windows xp and q cute mp3 player but i dont know how to put music in it. when i'm going to my computer i cant see that mp3

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Acer says to create the restore CD's, you should:

Boot to Windows XP
2 Press <Alt> + <F10> to open the Acer eRecovery Management utility.
3 Enter the password to proceed. The default password is six zeros.
4 In the Acer eRecovery Management window, select Recovery settings and
click Next.
5 In the Recovery settings window, select Backup snapshot image and
click Next.
6 Select the backup method.
a Use Backup to HDD to store the backup disk image on drive D:.
b Backup to optical device to store the backup image on CD or DVD.
7 After choosing the backup method, click Next.
Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process.

If you cannot do this, you should email Acer support to order the CDs.

Formatting

Formatting the drive will remove the OS - If you don't have OS installation discs don't format the drive, you'll be left with a useless machine.

I was trying to backup my files and got half way through and had to put in a new CD. And then when CD is loaded it comes up saying to insert CD.

wither the new cd is not empty or damage, try to put a brand new CD .

I prefer when you backup your files, dont use the backup program cause if you need to restore something you have to extract them all, I realy recommend to devide your files as they are on their format to 5 cds ( images / documents / etc....) so at any time you can find your files easily .

good luck

NTI CD DVD GOLD

The recovery cds will make your laptop as it is when you bought it or how they sold it to you, before using the recovery cds, take a backup of your data files on a external hard disk, pendrive or CD/DVD. then use the recovery cd.

Dont use the recovery cds, unless you dont have another choice.

How to reformat Acer Aspire 3002LCi Laptop Computer

Acer Aspires don't ship with Install CDs or DVDs, acer suggests that you create your own intall/backups with their empowerment utilities, I know this because I have an An Acer Aspire. A few questions if I may, first have you backed up your hard drive yet? Is there anything important on it, that if you lost it you would be upset? If so then I strongly urge you to backup any important files before you format, why is it you want to format? Please ask yourself these questions before you proceed, I don't believe any of us here would want to be responsible for showing you how to wipe out your hard drives data, so with that said I won't go any further till you have asked and answered those questions.

Hope this helps :)
